Ferromanganese: A ferrous alloy of manganese and iron.

Ferromanganese powder is machined ferromanganese powder.

In the steel and stainless steel manufacturing process, ferromanganese powder is widely used, and the consumption is 0.8-0.9% of the steel output, which accounts for 85-90% of the total demand for manganese. Manganese in ferromanganese alloy accounts for 60%-82%, and the sum of manganese and iron accounts for about 92%, that is, iron accounts for 10%-32%. Traditionally, manganese ore, iron ore, limestone, quartz sand and carbonaceous reducing agent are mixed and batched according to the desired grade of ferromanganese powder. In industrial production, relying on iron ore to adjust the ratio of manganese to iron, and limestone and quartz sand to adjust the alkalinity of slag, not only requires the composition of the produced manganese ore to be stable, but also consumes additional additives such as iron ore and limestone.

Classification of ferromanganese:
1 Main classification: According to different smelting methods, it is divided into electric furnace ferromanganese and blast furnace ferromanganese

2 Divided by carbon content: micro-carbon ferromanganese: carbon content not more than 0.15%; low carbon ferromanganese: carbon content more than 0.15% to 0.7%; medium carbon ferromanganese: carbon content more than 0.7% to 2.0% ; High carbon ferromanganese: the carbon content is greater than 2.0% to 8.0%;

3 According to the difference of silicon and phosphorus, it is divided into group I and group II.

Example: FeMn68C7.0

Fe—indicates that high carbon ferromanganese is a ferroalloy product containing iron;

Mn68 - the main element and its percentage of high carbon ferromanganese.
