For example, as a new type of powerful composite deoxidizer, it can also be used for tempering of ordinary steel, alloy steel and special steel. In addition, as a heating agent, it can also replace traditional heating agents with higher prices required for converter and open hearth steelmaking. High-carbon ferrosilicon is a commonly used deoxidizer and has the following advantages: the deoxidation process does not generate hydrogen source, which is safe and reliable; carbon and silicon are important elements that determine the function of steel, and high-carbon ferrosilicon can not only react with oxygen in molten steel. For deoxidation, the remaining unoxidized carbon and silicon can also be dissolved in molten steel, increasing silicon and carbon to achieve the effect of killing two birds with one stone. In order to obtain steel with qualified chemical composition and ensure the quality of steel, deoxidation treatment should be carried out in steelmaking. Silicon and oxygen have a great chemical affinity, so ferrosilicon is a strong deoxidizer in steelmaking for precipitation and diffusion deoxidation. Adding a certain amount of silicon to steel can significantly improve the strength, hardness and elasticity of steel.
High carbon ferrosilicon: excess oxygen is dissolved in molten steel at the end of converter steelmaking, and excess oxygen is precipitated when molten steel solidifies to form oxide inclusions and bubbles. The resulting oxide inclusions remain in the steel, which will reduce the plasticity and impact toughness of the steel. and other mechanical properties, high oxygen content in steel will also produce defects such as subcutaneous bubbles and looseness, and aggravate the harmful effect of sulfur, which directly affects the quality of cast billets and steel products.
Before the use of high carbon ferrosilicon, the deoxidation method of steel smelted in steel plants is generally dominated by aluminum and iron deoxidation. The advantages of aluminum deoxidation are that the aluminum grains are finer and the deoxidation effect is very obvious, but the disadvantage is that the deoxidation cost of aluminum and iron is relatively high. In addition, the aluminum deoxidizer is easy to form Al2O3 inclusions and cause the phenomenon of water blocking or no downflow. Therefore, the deoxidation method using high-carbon ferrosilicon can not only reduce the cost of deoxidation, but also solve the problems of water blocking and no downflow.
